Inside a Shipping Hub

Cogs in the Machine

From the outside, a shipping hub looks like any other industrial building: a steel and concrete box with lots of doors, utilitarian and unassuming. Inside, a hub is a throbbing mechanical organism. It ingests boxes, envelopes and all manner of freight, circulates it all on a ceaseless river of conveyor belts, then spits it out the other end in little brown trucks. I am a semi-autonomous blood cell. I move boxes.
